Mina Kim

Mina is an artist, performer, and researcher whose works explore leftovers from digital technology with the perspective of sociology, digital media studies, and interactive media design. Her in-progress research aims to find a way to coexist with digital debris in our digital society.

Her work ‘Playful Obsolescence’ is an installation as well as analog synthesizers composed of electronic waste. In this work, she transformed e-waste into musical instruments aiming to create a playful value and performativity of dead gadgets.

She also developed ‘Eno kit’, a paper-based DIT kit for e-waste analog synthesizer, which is devised to help people to build their own e-waste instruments easily and amusedly.
